Deborah Giaschi

Dr. Deborah Giaschi is a Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of British Columbia, an Associate Member of the Department of Psychology, and an Investigator at the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute. Her research focuses on the typical and atypical development of visual perception in children, with particular emphasis on amblyopia and dyslexia. She uses behavioural and neuroimaging methods, including psychophysics, fMRI, and MEG, to investigate the neural basis of motion perception, depth perception, and visuomotor function in developmental disorders. Her work aims to improve understanding of how these conditions affect brain development and to inform more effective approaches to assessment and treatment.
