Dr. Vallabh Das is a Professor at the College of Optometry, University of Houston. His research investigates the neural mechanisms underlying binocular vision, eye movement control, and strabismus. Using electrophysiology, behavioural paradigms, and non-human primate models, he studies how abnormal visual experience disrupts the development and function of oculomotor and visual pathways. His work aims to identify the neural circuits responsible for binocular dysfunction and to advance the development of evidence-based therapies for strabismus and amblyopia. He is currently collaborating with Dr. Kevin Duffy (Dalhousie University) on assessing the efficacy of fellow eye intravitreal tetrodotoxin as a treatment for amblyopia.
