Krista Kelly

Dr. Krista Kelly is an Assistant Professor in the School of Optometry and Vision Science at the University of Waterloo. She completed her BA in Psychology at the University of New Brunswick and her MA and PhD in Psychology at York University’s Centre for Vision Research. Following a postdoctoral fellowship, she directed the Vision and Neurodevelopment Lab at the Retina Foundation of the Southwest in Texas. Her research focuses on how early atypical visual experiences, such as visual deprivation, affect brain development.

Lisa Christian

Dr. Lisa Christian is a Clinical Professor at the School of Optometry & Vision Science at the University of Waterloo. Her clinical and academic work focuses on pediatric eye care, binocular vision, and vision development across childhood. She is interested in the diagnosis and management of binocular vision disorders, amblyopia, and other pediatric visual conditions, as well as advancing interprofessional education in eye care. Through her clinical practice, teaching, and research, she works to improve evidence-based approaches to pediatric vision assessment and treatment.

Ben Thompson

Dr. Ben Thompson completed his BSc and PhD in the Department of Experimental Psychology, University of Sussex, UK. He then completed postdoctoral fellowships in the Department of Psychology, UCLA, USA and the Department of Ophthalmology, McGill University. Prior to joining the University of Waterloo, Dr. Thompson was an associate professor in optometry and vision science at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, where he now holds an honorary professorship within the Liggins Institute.
